The MAF will be influcencing your starts as it drives the mixture, but I thnk there'll be more aswell - has yours had the injector software recall completed?

Had the Air Mass Meter replaced on my 2002 2.2 yesterday.
I didn't think my morning starts were a problem (not to your extent) but this monring, in a very cold start, it was a new engine

I knew there was a problem after my James Bond like smoke screens over Christmas and an average 35mpg back from Devon

Unlike you I went to a Ren specialist (independent one admittedly) and their diag equipment picked it up straight away
My TP warranty paid for it (would highly recommend Olympic, they keep shelling out!).
Can also recommend Kinleys if you are near the southcoast!

The list of work on my car gets longer - its been suggested I should re-register it as its practically a new car now LOL!)
