Re: Renault Laguna II - Phase 1 - Bodywork - Rear Screen Failures on Sport Tourer Ver

I mentioned this in 2007 and ca n't believe no one picked up on it .The `wiper shaft through the back window can seize up and start by getting progressivly stiffer ,until the wiper motor has difficulty moving the wiper arm at this point the rear screen begins to get stressed and don't forget when the rear wiper is switched on it will not switch off again until it completes its cycle even if ignition is switched off so it keeps straining to move the arm putting greater stress on the rear screen
so a drop in temperature or bump in the road could be the final straw or the stress could just be too much,
alternatively the wiper motor could burn out.
to check yours open the rear glass and try to move the wiper arm you should be able to move it easily with your little finger if not it needs lubricating
This is my theory hope it helps somebody
