Re: Scenic II front brake pad replacement
The wear on the pads shows you have worn / rusty discs. If taken to a garage, they would insist on replacing both as a pair.
If you put new pads on those discs, the new pads will be inefficient until they are worn away just as the existing ones are & the car will pull to one side when braking. Also you will waste pad life too.
Is it worth £35 more to do it right ?
Thanks for your reply
Ok, i kinda thought as much. Ive just checked, i can get them (in ireland) for €50 a pair.
Ive looked in the Haynes manual and it looks straightforward enough to change them, although things ive done in the past have looked straightforward but have presented unforseen pitfalls when doing the job.
Is there anything in particular i need to be wary of when changing the discs?
