No springs on my rear calipers.
Not been mentioned on last 4 MOT's.

I thought there were internal springs.
The bracketry is there so a spring could be fitted if the arms are sticking slightly or the cable is binding a bit.

The arms on mine drop back to their stops just fine without additional external springs and it feels nice n springy at the lever.
