That sounds excessive, I usually reckon on 7.
Handbrake cables do stretch, usually when my brat's been driving. Can't do it with an EPB
Of course, if the brakes are cr*p, then tis only natural to pull it on harder, then it's a vicious circle.
I would check that the auto adjusters actually do.
My Toyota always has a better pedal after servicing as they manually adjust the auto adjust brakes.
