Releasing latching switches in ISO con

An aftermarket stereo was at some point fitted to my ma's new car.

The OE unit was pushed back in place but not wired up.

Aftermarket wiring for an amp and speakers is present, but I would like to return it to factory fit.

The OE wire has been cut right at the block, so the plan was to release those latches and replace with a section of loom from a donor vehicle and then solver / bullet connector them to the original loom.

On other marques I have used a small flat bladed screwdriver to depress the latch and the simply pull out...not these ones.

Stubborn little fuggers!

Any tips?

Would this explain why the radio code needs to be inputted constantly?
