One school of opinion even says not to paint brake calipers as it reduces their ability to dispate heat.
I don't understand that reasoning especially in everyday use
As the friction is between the discs and pad material is there really much heat conducted to the calipers considering the contact area between the pad and the piston?
I know that brake fluid could boil (do modern fluids boil?) but that is under extreme conditions such as driving down a mountain pass or motorsports.
