I don't understand that reasoning especially in everyday use
As the friction is between the discs and pad material is there really much heat conducted to the calipers considering the contact area between the pad and the piston?
I know that brake fluid could boil (do modern fluids boil?) but that is under extreme conditions such as driving down a mountain pass or motorsports.
I was looking at some pucka caliper paint yesterday & I'm almost certain it said on the tin up to 80C
BTW it is raining now.
