Hi Horatio - the Renault driver's handbook does say the keycard may not work in areas of high electro-magnetic activity - were you near any overhead power lines or somone using a wireless computer connection. Maybe your clotyhing was giving off static.
I thought of that, but it happened in several different locations, with a good few miles between them. If interference was the problem, then it would have to be something I was carrying round inside the car. Maybe my mobile phone was sending out signals and blocking it - it's a Nokia, so its electronics are liable to be as flaky as Renault's.
But then that doesn't explain why the car sorted itself this morning.
Have you been taking those funny tablets again Dave?
I gave up on those a while back. I think the car may be taking a liking to them though.
Can't be half as much static as your frock makes as it rubs on those go-faster seat covers
