Re: Just bought a 58 plate Espace Quest 2.0l 16V...few questions.

Already rebuilt my card, inc replacing the proximity inductor, which got damaged opening the case. SMC PITA IMNSHO. Sorry if Patronising in prev post, one has to assume an "average man in the street" level. I for my sins am a Service Manager in Audio Visual. So repairing VCR's from when they cost 700!!!

Interested in hearing more on the battery disconnect / reconnect procedure. Can you expand?
Simples, all to do with making sure the computers are asleep before disconnecting, rather like ejecting USB sticks.
Put the driver's window down, lift the bonnet and ensure all equipment is switched off.
Ensure all doors are closed and remove key from the ignition.
Wait for 3 minutes, disconnect the vehicle battery.
This is to allow the UCH to be in "sleep mode" when dissing

Reconnect the vehicle battery, wait a further 10 seconds (do not open doors.).
Switch on the side lights through the driver's window.
Switch on the ignition and check system's functionality.
Start the engine and complete the system's check.
Reset Windows, sunroof & Input Radio Code.
This came from another reno based forum & is editted by me.
