Re: Scenic - Failure to release parking brake following rear pads replacement
In order to fit new rear pads the electronic handbrake mechanisn adjustment must be released to allow the caliper mechanism to re-adjust itself. This should be done before working on the brakes - failyure to do so will upset the motor mechanism which operates the auto handbrake and the control unit will then throw up a fault whuich will need re-progammed.
There are a few posts on the topic - do a forum search.
I I have had to replace a brake cailper and have now realised that i did not release the electronic hand brake mechanism and now the handbrake does not work.
What do I do to resolve the problem
