There are vast amounts of different part numbers for just the 99-03 Scenic.

I think the scenics before your model and early ones of yours had a physically smaller servo.

Mk2 Scenic servos are a no go by the looks of them.

I would presume that a few different ones would fit but theres no way of knowing before purchase or whether the braking performance would be the same.

Depending on when the hiss occurs, there is this.

Not saying your man would want to guarantee the job but as a last resort (and cheaper) it's worth a look.
