It'll be a digital instrument cluster, and there's a good chance that the data arrives from the
via multiplex rather than as a pulse.
Your best bet would probably be to tap into the output from the Top Dead Centre sensor under the bonnet.
Does the cruise definitely need the RPM sense line to operate? Most of the after-fit ones I've seen only needed the vehicle speed sense. If push comes to shove, this can be achieved by a magnet and
pick-up arrangement on one of the driveshafts.
