I could be wrong, but if it's anything like the Laguna, the locks are meant to spin around. Its a safety feature of sorts which prevents the lock from breaking or sokmething if someone tries to foce it open.
It shouldn't spin freely though - there should be some resistence. Try turning the key one way, then the other and it should open the lock
