I have jacked my car up and both hubs are working ok. The only thing I can see is that the offside cable appears to be too long.

I have tried to reset the handbrake and can hear it making a noise each time as the motor operates but nothing happens. Is this because the cable is now the wrong lenght?

How do I get the handbrake to work again?

First photo shows the offside cable which has pulled back at the end because it is too long.
