Re: Scenic - Failure to release parking brake following rear pads replacement
What year is this vehicle? The older ones have an EPB box, the newer ones have electronics in the calipers. Wires rather than handbrake cables.
The latter need diagnostics to tell them the pads have been tampered with. There is a thread somewhere describing this.
2006 with EPB box and solid cables to the calipers.
I have jacked the car up and can manually operate both calipers using a spanner so the handbrake is not siezed at the hubs. I have tried to reset the handbrake but it makes the noise and does not reset.
The offise cable (othe cable I left attached as I fitted the new pads) appears too long. The outter pulls back at the hub as it is the wrong length - see attached pic.
How to I remedy this?
