Isolate the motor from the electronics, then put a 12v battery across it. just flash it, as you don't want it going too far the wrong way.
First question, does it turn?
If not, remove motor & clean the commutator & brushes.
I have isolated the motor from the electronics and flashed 12v across it. It appears to attempt to rotate but is drawing a lot of power and making quiet a bit of noise. I can manually make the tube slide without much resistance and both cables slide in and out easily as well. I do not see the tube rotate when I put 12v to the motor; it only makes a slight movement but does not rotate?
Something appears jammed but i am not sure what? I have attached a pic
