Re: ABS/ESP Laguna 1.9 dci
The ABS & ESP share components and they are part of the same system. The ABS stops your wheels locking if you do an emergency stop, where as the ESP actually brakes a wheel or wheels to help keep the car stable.
Your wheel spin probably should have made the ESP light up but not stay on (Latched).
An ABS warning light should self cancel once the fault has gone, I assume ESP should do the same.
Example, if you unplugged a sensor the ABS light would come on, once the sensor is reconnected the light would remain on until the car was driven, then as soon as you go a few yards the light would cancel on it's own....I have no idea why your is staying on.
Do you have a switch to turn off the ESP? have you tried operating this and driving the car.
The code you have (C1006) is a generic code, a lot of code readers can't read Renault fault codes, you need a Renault specific code reader.
You could try disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes to see if it will reset something....you never know with electronics. (make sure you have your radio code and know how to enter it before doing this!)
