Hi Briggsy, the simple answer is theres no simple answer. I have the same car and the same problem.
A couple of points to try.
There is a series of How To's on Clio sunroofs in the Clio FAQ, they are not quite right for the '94 but worked well enough for mine in fact thats my sunroof in the pics.
Where there are mentions in the FAQ of drainpipes ignore, you don't have them.
When the roof is open, check the inner seal has not perished, easy to replace if it has.
The problem I found with mine was that the roof had dipped in the middle at the front of the sunroof. I only noticed when I was looking for leaks with the roof shut and couls see daylight between the roof and seal. I applied some vertical force and it's much improved.
So to sum up, check the FAQ, check the condition of the seal check to ensure roof is shut properly and there are no gaps.
