Question Servicing your own car... Good Idea?

I made a decision recently to service my Clio II myself this time around, after doing a bit of repair work on the suspension and quite enjoying it. But now I'm finding that to be a little difficult to fulfill... I'm quite busy and do a lot of driving around, and that is leaving me with little time to complete the service. And I'm still clocking the mileage which might make it difficult to keep track of what will need doing when next time.

There's also the service history to take into account - what will the effect on this?

So I thought I might ask you peeps what your experiences or opinions are about this...
