Mine is a 1996 Megane 1, RT, 1.4 litre. (It's not '99 as I said above - now corrected). The sunroof is a standard tilt/slide one, with controls identical to those pictured earlier in this thread.

This issue does not seem to relate to a lack of grease, but I believe it is a mis-count on the part of the motor. I noticed when I dismantled mine that the spinning part of the motor has effectively a plastic 'cog' on it with one tooth. An attached cam/cog counts these revolutions, and flicks a microswitch after a set amount of revolutions. I think this mecahnicsm is not 100% reliable, meaning it can sliup and miscount if you use the sunroof enough.

That is my interpretation anyway. Potentially it could be a stiff mechanism which is causing this miscount, so I'll probably grease my runners up tomorrow to be safe!
