Spoke to local dealer FISHBROTHERS Swindon who said as its a 52 car, if it was going to break it would have done by now therefore no responsibility lies with Renault.

Looks like having to get autoglass to do it on my insurance later today but have spoken to Renault UK who are "looking into it"!

Has anyone else had experience of this happening? The window was undamaged! Last time I shut the lift up window was 4 days ago!

I am DISGUSTED by Renault - or rather at this time the dealer! NO OTHER car i've owned has done this!

I have a 55 Megane and the same thing happend to me this week 5th Jan 2006. Driving in the quiet Upminster suburbs a "Pop" sound and the rear windscreen shattered. Car less than 6 months old. Renault dealership did not want to know but I wll persue with HQ. This seems like poor workmanship or a design fault. Do not see why I should have to a pay a penny of this
