Phil, before I do that and risk damage to the mirror I was looking for someone who knew the answer.
Often manufacturers include a wiring loom that caters for all accessories and those not fitted have the connection plug left spare.
So does anyone know if this is the case on my car.
It would be an easy job then to remove the non heated mirror and replace with a mirror that has a heating element and plug it into the "spare" connector.
And then it wouldn't matter if the non heated mirror got damaged on removal.
If I've got to run new heater wiring from the mirror to the loom in the vehicle I'll probably not bother.
