Hi all. Just another update on my smokey Laguna 1.9dci
After doing all the above things, going for the cheapest option sensors. airmass etc and took the plunge and just had to get the injectors done.
I sent the injectors away as the local "Bosch specialist" said they do not recondition direct injection injectors as they are to complicated?????? There suppose to be the specialists!!!!!
Anyway, I sent them to a diesel specialist up north somewhere, they have a website and have been doing diesels for years. He tested them and said they were letting out to much fuel, so I got them reconditioned.
I put them back on my car and got a diesel emission test and hey presto, it passed the emission test at 2.5 ppm's. The MOT limit is 3.5ppm's..and I was getting 6's and 7's
What a relief. One big headache out the way...
Just goes to show, everyone i spoke to never had injector problems...
One thing to look out for if anyone has this kind of problem is that, because the exhaust points down, when the car is stationary and you floor the pedal as you do in an MOT test, there used to be a lot of soot on the floor which had to cleaned off. With the reconditioned ones you get a little puff but no stains on the floor.
Also, I know it sounds a bit silly but the smell of the fumes that comes out is different too, more sweeter if you know what I mean?????
I'm glad I sorted it out once and for all and if anyone has a similiar problem I hope this helps.
