Re: Renault Clio II - Electronics - Airbag and Service light illuminated
Last week my son's clio developed the same warning light issue. We checked and cleaned the under seat plugs with servisol switch cleaner on both sides but this didn't fix it.
Fortunately my son is on a motor vehicle technician course at the local college, where he has access to £7000 (according to him) worth of diagnostic equipment. The miracle toy revealed a code for drivers side collision sensor - no signal.
After parting with the princely sum of £5 from our local breakers, the clio is now error code free.
The sensor isn't the easiest thing to get to, but with the seat pushed all the way back, you can see the module attached by 2 10mm bolts to the side sill, under the seat between the carpet & the plastic sill cover. Remove the bolts and there's enough movement on the wires to allow removal of the wiring plug.
PS. Don't forget to turn off the ignition and wait a while, or do like we did & disconnect the battery
