Perhaps you should really asked does the advantages of a big, comfy, easy to drive, well equipped car outweigh the disadvantages of hefty repair bills for the inevitable failures at your none-to-cheap Renault dealer?
Mine include
both front window mechanisms
new key + programming
new intercooler
new TDS
rear bushes (under warranty, thank heavens!)
multitudes of EGR failures.
Uneven tyre wear on front axle and sooo easily de-tracked

Haven't got to the cambelt change costs yet. Dreading that operation!
I also hear that trade-in/second hand prices have hit an all time low; the word on the street is obviously not good. Don't see many laguna II facelifts where I live either.

Good luck to all!
Currently in pr_giles's garage:
I used to drive a 52 Laguna II Privilege saloon 2.2dci until I px'd it for a new car and an S-plate Peugeot 306Dturbo
