Hi Fred - spray painting is a bit of a black art at the best of times and unless you have access to a compressor and spraygun the chances of getting a good finish with an aerosol are minimal. Remember many modern paint finishes are a two coat process with a matt coat first and then a clear coat on top. I do know one thing about painting though the preparation time is about 20 time slonger than it takes to paint. All that rubbing down, masking, etc and then if it don't match you're back to square one. As a matter of interest what age and model is the car and what colour is it (is it a solid colour or metallic)
