finally got it off the car - gave up quite a fight!

Took me a while to figure out that you need to separate the cable (and splitter) that comes from the EPB unit from the cables that go to the calipers as there's not enough space to push the splitter bit or the EPB module above the rear beam (and i tried everything!)

Next stage is to have a look at the internals and see if it is just jammed or if the motor is knackered...cables seem fine though! I'm probably not going to poke about too much if it's not a simple fix and i'm tempted to just ship it off the guy that refurbs them so that it's all done properly.
