i've done a wee summary on your thread - not too bad once you get going :D

Got my unit apart and this is what it looked like:

As you can see it has been screwed right up so i suspect the numpty garage activated the handbrake with the cables off and then used the emergency release (although they claimed they hadn't) to get the cables reconnected.

I unscrewed the cable screw until it was pretty much maxed out and clipped the release bit back together - you have to make sure the cable is between the wee hooks so that the emergency release will still work.

I did notice that the relay on the PCB has the same bubble as cardinal sin found:

Hopefully this isn't terminal?? I guess i wont find out till probably the weekend - i'll get christmas and boxing day out the way before rolling about on the mother in laws driveway again :lol:
