It is normal for the lock to rotate like that... its a safety feature (apparently) preventing the lock to be damaged (or the innards) by forced entry.
You should turn the key one way about 90 degrees and then back the other way (about 180 degrees) and that should unlock the door. Central locking ONLY works from the central button or the remote and NOT from the doors.
