That is a good point. I have actually replaced the tyre on this offending wheel. But the tyre fitter thought he was doing me a favour by announcing. "Your tyre is replaced, and I managed not to break the valve!"

I didn't have the heart to tell him that it was the only transponder valve left, and that I would have preferred if he had put a normal valve on! So I probably won't do anything about it until I need a new tyre again. (If I have the car that long, and haven't traded it in for something simpler like a Morris Minor by then).
