Re: Renault Laguna 1 - Phase 2 Headlight Restoration
My '52 Clio had seriously yellow headlamp lenses and an MOT advisory note "headlamp output diminished" so I had the local garage polish them (1/2 hour labour, £25). One or two years on a different MOT station said "Fail; Obviously incorrect beam pattern". Looking at the beam pattern on a white wall it is not 'obvious' to me.
The lower third of the lenses are fogged, grey and this coincides with the edge of the 'beam pattern'. I have tried a dry scouring pad (green meany) and it is obvious from the 'feel' and sound that the lower area of the lens is not smooth.
I will try to find my pack of 600 - 2000 wet-and-dry but when the lenses are wet they look good.
If I ask my local paint supplier for 'clear-coat' to apply on polycarbonate will they know what to supply?
