Re: Dealer charged me for 1st years Road tax
Guys you are missing the point I am not moaning about the price. This was a brand new clio and in the invoice was a charge of £130 for road tax.
The car was a write off due to an accident so when we tried to claim the tax back from DVLA they said that there would be no refund as the first year is Nil then £110 per year not £130.
so if you try to claim the road tax back and they say it's nil why does a dealer charge £130 saying its how the on the road price of the vehicle is made up.
If it's Nil then there should be no price shown for 12 months road tax. Yes there was also £55 registration fee which is correct but where does the tax come into it. when you sell your car the tax is refunded back to you as the car was written off then 11months road tax was due back yes or no?
