Re: it lives !!!
Any time I go to look at a car and the seller says it's just been MOT'd I take no notice whatsoever as it doesn't mean a thing regarding safety or reliabilty.
There was a case over here in Northern Ireland were a woman driving her car back from having successfully passed the MOT 20 minutes earlier and when she stepped on the brakes approaching traffic lights the brake pedal went to the floor and she ended up colliding with two cars coming across the junction. Thankfully no one was seriously injured. Subsequent investigation showed that a flexi hydraulic brake pipe has been rubbing against a drive shaft and failed under brake pressure.
Evetually the case went to court where expert opinion and the judge came to the conclusion that the rubbing brake pipe should have been noticed during the MOT test. The MOT test centre was found liable for all damages and costs. Ever since MOT test centres over here have been very vigilant in this respect.
