Yeh Peanut - the sensor type valve takes a standard (short variety I think) Schrader type valve core and can be replaced but as said earlier the valve stems are prone to corrosion whereby the valve core cannot seat properly and begins to leak. My local tyre fitter warned me recently that one of mine I had left in for a puncture had some corrosion and warned me to keep an eye on it. He quoted me £28 for replacing the sensor but only Renault could reprgramme it. I asked him what do most people do and he told me most have it replaced with a standard type fitting and live with the problem of the display showing one or more wheels missing. He also warned me before fixing the puncture that he could not guarantee the sensor would work afterwards as he had many complaints in the past.
