Re: Laguna 2 under tray fixings

The original bolts are bog standard 10mm headed bolts. These screw into captive nuts in the chassis legs and surrouding area but the captive nuts nearly always fail (that's probably why the tray is missing) and spin round that's why self-tappers are recommended. You need to drill a hole about 15 mm away from the existing holes to get a self-tapper to grip. Try to uses plated hex headed self-tappers.. The ones I used on my old Lag were the type used for industrial roof sheeting.

I also cut a small door in the tray directly under the sump drain plugs and held in place with four cable ties. Whenever I need to change the oil - cut two of the cable ties - hinge down the flap - drain the oil - repalce with new cable ties.
