Disconnecting the air flow meter will cut a lot of other sensors out of the system as the ECU runs a set programme rather then responding to the information given by sensors,so it might not be the air flow meter at fault.

Did you get it sorted Rav?

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
