Sounds like a snapped shock absorber.....this is unfortunately a common fault.

Thanks for the update on the running problem,and I'll move the post back to the Knowledge Base.If you search the threads in there,there is one that covers your new problem.

EDIT;Actually,there are quite a few!.
If you go to the Scenic section,a do a search in there for 'Shock',you'll find a few threads.

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
