Question Potential Purchase Laguna

Morning guys and gals, looking to change my vehicle as my current car has come to the end of its useful life. I have come across a 2006 Laguna estate 1.9 Dci its done 21,000 miles one owner and full service history this car comes in at under 5k. As I'm going to be using this as a taxi what sort of problems would I expect to come across in the future, my current vehicle has done over 200000 miles but needs about 2k worth of work done to get it through its test, clutch, radiator new interior carpets etc etc. Money in my opinion more suited to the purchase of a newer car.

Re: Potential Purchase Laguna

Go ask a well established mini-cab company and I'm sure the answer will be a resounding NO!!

I like the Lag but in all honesty their reliability just ain't up to the demands of such work. Where I live the biggest cab company with around 300 plus drivers most of them either drive Mercs (10%) and Skodas (90%).

Re: Potential Purchase Laguna

Hello and welcome to the forum.

I must admit,if I was an owner-taxi-driver the Laguna 2 would be a long way down the list. The initial pruchase is cheaper than many comparative cars, but they are cheap for a reason I'm afraid.

You might get lucky and get a good one and all will be well, but looking around our local taxi ranks I can't think of anyone using a Laguna 2 at all at the moment. In fact,a couple I know are still running old Laguna 1's rather than the later model.

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
