he said the fault would not show up on diagnosics check . If i had read about this here first i would have fitted it myself as i do most of my own servicing . this and a timing belt are the only jobs iv had done in a garage .

If possible,get the garage to read the ECU fault codes,and that should confirm that the TDC sensor is intermittantly not sending a signal to the ECU .It is a very common fault with Renaults,and isn't expensive to replace(around 30 inc fitting).

Found out today a megane 2 TDC sensor will cost 169 inclusive at wests of Cambridge

Hi Chris, had new sensor fitted ,going well a bit afraid to say how good we feel when she starts first time, Auto tec, said get rid ,big money when Engine Management goes.
What do you think.
