VOSA MOT Matters Of Testing Jan 2011

I've mentioned that the MOT Testing magazine is available to download from the VOSA site for free a number of times in the past, but the January 2011 issue has a classic 'Horror Story' where someone decided to sort out the binding brake on his car.....

Scroll down to page 11......

With a number of changes being planned for the MOT in the coming years it's always worth having a browse through the magazine,it's sent out to all MOT stations but is open for anyone to read.

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....

More frightening to me, was the 2500 ish duff MOT's issued in Lancashire, which is where our recent acquisition came from.

Read that mag quite regularly, my personal favs have been mole grips on the rear brake lines to stop a leak and front tyres inflated to 80psi to "fix a power steering problem". (it was an old pre power steering Fiesta)

Re: VOSA MOT Matters Of Testing Jan 2011

Given the sticky elsewhere, one of the most widely useful things to take out of this is the direct.gov.uk/motreminders link... quid fifty to delegate putting a date on the calendar? I'm just about disorganised enough to do that.

Though why it's not a simple mail-out the same as the tax reminder is beyond me.
