Re: Grand Scenic, worth a punt?

Hello,

well the 1.9 DCI is nicer to drive then the 2.0 petrol and of course more economical, although its real world economy is about 50 mpg driven sensibly on a run, whereas the 1.5 dci can do almost 60mpg on a run. Same things apply as I said before but on 1.9 dci the turbo can fail and this is usually due to not changing the oil enough. FSH is a good thing though. If you do buy the car please ignore Renaults service every 2 years or 18k miles recommendation. Far better to change the engine oil and filters every year or max 10,000 miles. End of the day its up to you.

Harry.

Re: Grand Scenic, worth a punt?

Thanks for your help guys, i decided to go for the 2.0vvt in the end.

I'm very impressed with how comfortable it is, and i keep finding bloody cubby holes everywhere (found a cd changer in of them )

MPG (so far) seems reasonable, although time will tell i guess.

Same as mine then, except the extra seats. I must admit, the Grand seems a smoother drive than the 5 seater. Then again, my Mrs says I'm never happy with the ride of any car once I've bought it.

Re: Grand Scenic, worth a punt?

Well that lasted 2 days...

Got in it today, started her up and sounded like a diesel. 2 minutes searching on here and i discover its the dephaser pulley.

What timing!!

The dealer stated there was 1 months warranty so im going to ring him tomorrow and see how the land lies.
