Windscreen washers?

Can anyone help me solve a problem with my windscreen washers. My clio went in for a service today and even the garage could not get them working. I can hear the pump so thats ok but alas no water. Sometimes when i first start the car they work but as soon as i try again even seconds later they just will not work. Garage have cleaned the tubes and emptied and rinsed out the water bottle but still having same problem. They suggested taking car to dealers but i would rather ask advice first as trying keep down the cost. Any advice would be most appreciated. Thanks jenny

Re: Windscreen washers?

It would be worthwhile trying the hot water trick, it does work (Sometimes)

Siphon the current contents of the washer bottle out, half fill the empty washer bottle with hand hot water. Let it stand for a minute or two and then in 10 to 15 second bursts let the washer rip

This could be important because of the cold weather Id shied the hot water from hitting the screen glass which might crack because of localised expansion from the hotspots of water
