Have a look on e bay but make sure it's an UNUSED card I got one for £40 !! There is a way of fixing (sort of) the button but it needs a deft touch of a very low power soldering iron and some sticky tape. Look around this forum there is a pic of "how to", may take a bit of finding but it is there.

The emergency key is a pull-out on your present key. Just pull it out. It won't start your car but it will save you getting wet if it's rainin'.
Is yours the 3 litre V6 as in your signature? if so Im really looking for diesel with a privilidge spec..

thanks for the offer

after trawling through the net i found some info regarding the hidden key, you can open your door with this when your battery dies. when your in the car, plug the key back into the card then use your card as normal becase the card can be read even with no battery in. anyone tried this yet?

Out of curiosity, I tried the emergency key on my last car. Yes, it works - it unlocks the passenger door.

The transponder chip in the card is a passive device anyway - it's energised by the chip reader in the card slot, and so doesn't need a battery to work.

The emergency key is really there in case either the card battery or car battery completely dies. In both cases, you can't get into the car using the remote because the central locking won't function. That's when you'll need the key.

Of course, if like me, you park your car with the passenger side hard up against a wall, building or other object, then you're stuffed. They really should have moved the key slot onto the driver's door for the RHD models.
