Renault - Megan - Steering

I have a 97 Megan thats done just under 60,000 miles.
The steering has started to feel slugish and it feels like there is a greater delay between turning the wheel and the front wheels turning.

Can anyone help?

I have the same problem. I was advised to replace the power steering pump, which has not helped and now the power steering rack has to be replaced. Not sure if its the same with yours - but symptoms sound similar. Is the steering heavy?

Mine is 99 megane with 75k on it. Apparently steering problems are rare on our cars

My steering isn't heavy the power steering still works, there is just a noticable delay when turning and if the road dips on the one side the car will steer into it without any movement in the steering wheel, but there doesn't seem to be any play in the wheels when parked. Bizarre???

I'd have a good look at the wishbone bushes and suspension joints.

Sounds as though you have side to side play in one of the wheels and this is causing the car to wander.

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
