totally pointless but trick !

for all with keyless entry system diesels,,,,
get in car,put in card IMMEDIATELY press start (release, do not keep finger on button )DO NOT wait for heater plugs to go out ,
sit back and wait a few secs, car auto cranks engine and rumbles to life!
apologies if u already know i found out by chance.
ps do it to a cold engine that has been stood ALL night cos i know mine starts instantly if its had a run and is warm for hours and hours later

I had my petrol Laguna for about a year before I found out you only had to press the stater button briefly and it would crank the engine until it started, I always kept it pressed until the engine started.

I only found out when some other forum member said his had stopped doing this.

Yep - if you press the button briefly and let go, the car takes over, it waits for plug preheat light to go out then cranks the engine.
I have only ever started the car this way, didn't realise you were "allowed" to keep the button pressed ( thought it may do some harm, a bit like keeping key turned in ignition once engine started) until engine started until I read on this forum that others were doing that!

I always did this whenI had mine - thought it was the "right" way to do it!

You can toggle the function, I think?

When the salesman took us for a drive he started it with just a momentary push of the button. I've always done the same ..... I suppose I thought he'd done it the "correct" way.
It does seem to bemuse people I have in the car You know, you jump in, pop on the seatbelt, stick yer foot on the clutch and push the button & hey presto, a couple of seconds later it kicks into life. They always seem to take a double take when it starts. Very amusing
I've let a few mates drive the bus and they ALWAYS hold the button till it starts

I think I have CDO. It's like OCD, but with ALL THE LETTERS IN THE RIGHT ORDER
