Re: Where's my Scenic?

The hub nut is the big nut in the centre of the hub that holds the hub onto the rear axle.

All the way to France for them eh!!

Bull&hit - my local Renault dealer has so many of the darned things they are actally selling them.

Both the hub nuts and their covers are a common servicable item in any Renault dealership - why - because they are a once-use-only item that has to be replaced any time the rear hubs have to be removed and when it comes to rear brakes that is very common indeed.

Correct if I'm wrong but I do believe the quote from the Josie Whales movie is quite apt for this crazy scenario.

The quote goes something like this "Don't pi$$ down my back and tell me it's raining"

Re: Where's my Scenic?

Probably just the methods of a big corporation....

Remember Noel, the cars hadn't reached the dealerships so Renault wouldn't pop down to your local for a set, especially as it could well have been a consignment of cars rather than 1 or 2

Re: Where's my Scenic?

Very true Pat.

Its also worth remembering that so many car companies work on the Just In Time levels of stock management, that they can't just conjure parts when there's a spike in demand - cars are still being made, and the production lines must be kept moving also.

This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.

Re: Where's my Scenic?

I picked up the car Thursday afternoon and am really pleased with it (so far!). Managed to get the dealer to fill up the tank in lieu of all the hassle....oooeeerrr.....

Many thanks to all of you for your helpful, sympathetic, (and funny - Madnoel) contributions. Now I shall go and hide in the corner and try not to be a trouble to anyone!
