Renault Megane 1 - F7R Pre-Purchase Advice

im not entirely sure where to post this so in here will do i guess...

Can i have some advice please =)

I have owned 3 different meganes, first being a 1.6 8 valve that i wont touch again due to the head gasket. second being 2.0 8 valve which had its problems but other wise was a very good little engine, and a a 2.0 IDE ... ermmm.. well.

as im sure you know its an epic engine with epic faults to go with it... so i wont be touching one of these again.

Glutton for punishment my friend has basically talked me into getting another megane, this time with the f7r which i have heard many times in many places that Renault should have kept instead of producing the IDE .

before i rush in and try to buy one of these- is there any horror stories i need to know specific to this engine?

im quite familiar with the generic mk1 megane faults like boot locks central locking rear coupe windows etc... but i've only heard praise so far about the non IDE 16v 2l engine (aka f7r)... is this true or will i find a second horror story?

Thanks for your advice and input in advance =)
