Exactly my point Az, thanks for the back up.

I believe all the volume german manufacturers went through a bad patch around then (I don't know if it was poor quality steel following the re-unification of east & west germany, or the switch to water-based paints) or what, but rust was a major issue - and this type of deterioration is much more difficult (read expensive) to cure.
