Re: Renault Warranty

I considered this very question almost two years ago when the Renault warranty on my Clio ended. I took a gamble and elected not to extend the warranty cover and so far, I have been lucky.
That said, I have a basic diesel Clio and I figured it was hard to imagine sufficient things going wrong with it to make the warranty work out. If I had an Espace with lots of electronic things on it though, I'd have probably gone ahead with the warranty.
Have you tried the What Car magazine warranty, by the way? What Car makes much of getting the best deal for motorists, so they would be sure to offer a competitive package for fear of any negative publicity. Their website is

Re: Renault Warranty

one thing to check is how much labour rate these warraty companies pay, most are 40 quid a hour leaving you to pay the rest. Renault don't limit it, I use WMS and they cover everything and don't reject much but they will only pay 40 quid a hour.

Re: Renault Warranty

When I had Warranty Direct I didnt have a problem with them but you had to pay 25 excess on every claim so something to bear in mind when selecting which company you go with.

I've never heard of anyone NOT having a problem with their car, and being considered unlucky...

Its not a get rich quick scheme, or to excuse owner neglect/abuse - its to cover against unforeseen bills, thats all.

This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.
